The Grid Workloads Archive

New! The sixth trace in the Grid Workload Archive Format (GWF) has been added to the Grid Workloads Archive web site .

We have completed the analysis of a set of seven long-term grid traces, coming from the OSG/Grid3, the LCG, the TeraGrid, the NorduGrid, Grid'5000, the GLOW, the Condor U.Wisc.-Madison, and DAS-2 environments. Please visit my research web page for more details.

ServMark
GrenchMark is a flexible synthetic Grid workload generator, submitter, and results analyzer, developed at TU Delft to help in testing, analyzing, and comparing various Grid settings. Please visit the GrenchMark official web site. A GrenchMark presentation, CCGrid'06 talk describing GrenchMark has been presented at CCGrid'06. A newer and more comprehensive GrenchMark presentation, ASCI Graduate Course A9, Spring 2007, PPT [3MB] GrenchMark/ServMark presentation has been presented at the ASCI Graduate Course A9 (also available as GrenchMark presentation, ASCI Graduate Course A9, Spring 2007, PDF [1MB]).

GrenchMark is also part of ServMark, a distributed testing, analysis, and comparison tool for Grid environments, middleware, and services. As of July 20, 2006, ServMark has been accepted as a Globus Incubator Project. A preview of ServMark's capabilities can be seen at GlobusWorld 2006. A first trial version of ServMark was released on October 1, 2006.

The Tribler P2P File-Sharing System

We have developed a new cooperative downloading protocol which makes use of social groups, where members who trust each other cooperate to improve their download performance. Please visit the official Tribler web site for more details. You can also check the official developer's page for Tribler.

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Traces: BitTorrent

The Delft BitTorrent Measurements web site
P2P Trace Analysis

We have completed a large-scale monitoring of a P2P file-sharing network (BitTorrent), with the purpose of correlating the P2P network properties with those of the underlying Internet. By using our custom MultiProbe environment running on top of 50 PlanetLab and over 100 DAS-2 nodes, we have managed to track ~500K peers in one week. Please visit my research web page for more details. A MultiProbe presentation, GP2PC/CCGrid'06 [PPT, 2MB] description of the measurements, and of MultiProbe, the framework used for them, was given in the ended GP2PC/CCGrid'06.
